
Xavier Carn
A graduate of the French National Institute of Oriental Languages (Malay and classical Arabic) and post-graduate in International Business and Political Sciences (Paris II University), Xavier Carn started his career in 1991 in the French ministry of Defence in Paris, as an analyst for Asia. He was then on secondments to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Second Secretary of the French Embassy in Bangkok (1995-1999), and as First Secretary of the French Embassy in Singapore from 2001 to 2005.
Xavier is responsible, amongst other things, for the local operational readiness and delivery of the International SOS security programs. He provides advice and support on travel security issues, crisis management and business continuity matters to clients. Since 2006 he has been directly involved in the management of numerous crises and mass evacuation operations (Lebanon, Chad, Guinea Conakry, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Egypt, Mali, volcano eruption in Iceland, Central African Republic, Ebola Outbreak in Guinea-Liberia-Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso…).
In September 2014, Xavier was promoted to Regional Security Director for Europe (Western and Northern Africa.
In the 113 countries that are part of this region he oversees the assessment of Travel Risk, and the delivery of Security Assistance and Crisis Management to clients.
Xavier manages a team of 30 operational and intelligence professionals based in London and Paris security centers.
He also contributes to the development of new solutions in the area of Travel Risk Management.
