At the beginning of 2000, he joined STMicroelectronics N.V. in Geneva (Switzerland) as Corporate Risk Management & Safety Director and then as Corporate ERM & Insurance Director with global responsibilities for development of risk management and insurance strategy and overseeing its tactical implementation. He has amassed more than 25 years professional experience on designing, implementing and managing risk management, programs, initiatives
and organizations as well as global insurance programs.

His background includes a genuine passion for searching excellence and effective management
execution, for developing insurance new products and business relationships, risk management processes efficiency and P/L responsibility. He is focused, ethical and driven to succeed. After having started his professional carrier as Sales & System engineer at IBM in the mid of ’80 in Milan, at the early ‘90 he joined CHUBB in Boston (USA) where he was trained in P&C insurance, loss prevention and risk fire engineering. Then, he established and managed the Loss
Prevention department at CHUBB’s Milan branch office. Few years later, he joined Sedgwick Insurance Broker in London (UK) and then in Milan (Italy) to establish and manage the Risk Control & Risk Management professional services. In the mid of ’90, he moved to corporate risk management, first with Pirelli Group and then with Impregilo Group in Milan respectively as Group’s Risk Engineering Manager and as Head of Risk & Insurance Management.

Mr. Micale holds a High School Diploma in Humanistic Studies, a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and the Chartered Engineering, as Professional Engineer, from the “Università degli Studi” of Florence (Italy). Since 2013, he is the Educational Coordinator at the Risk Engineering and Risk Management Master at CINEAS.
