The true power of a risk manager: influence or support
Risk managers are increasingly asked to contribute on complex issues, encompassing technological, political, economic and regulatory risks. How can they align their activities with the new challenges and bring more value to their companies? We believe that risk managers have a unique position to encourage greater communication between different functions, influence an integrated approach to risks and make an important input into the strategic planning. But to deliver effective advice, risk managers need to continue developing their skills to have a broader understanding of business, financial data and technology.
