The FERMA Forum attracts around 1500 risk professionals from across Europe, so an important reason people come is to meet each other– better known as networking. Gilbert Canaméras, chair of the Forum committee, says, “The Forum Committee is very aware that a big attraction of the Forum is the opportunity for risk managers to meet colleagues from around Europe and senior people from their business partners. We have designed the programme with this in mind. For instance, we have created special slots to facilitate meeting and exchanging views.”
New FERMA board member from Airmic Xavier Mutzig, who is Head of Group Insurance and Insurable Risk Management for Johnson Matthey, particularly welcomes the introduction this year of an industry-sector breakfast for risk managers only at this year’s Forum as a great way of discussing shared interests.
The opening reception on Sunday evening 15 October is a gala event that welcomes everyone to the Forum. Monday morning sees a networking innovation: industry breakfast. That event is for risk managers only, but the leadership lunch which is also on Monday is open to everyone registered at the Forum. An informal FERMA cocktail in the exhibition space finishes the day.
Tuesday brings the young professional breakfast, which is open to everyone under 40 attending the forum, and the popular ladies’ lunch. Networking breaks during the day are designed to be long enough for proper conversations and visits to the exhibition. The Forum website has details of sponsors and exhibitors who will be there. Finally, on Wednesday there is the informal closing lunch for a final opportunities and a conclusion to the event for 2017.
